GUIDE / QUALIFICATION

How final expense calls are qualified

Final expense call qualification is a layered process designed to confirm consumer intent and campaign fit before and immediately after connection. Advertising sets expectations, a questionnaire screens responses, IVR reconfirms key details, and the receiving agent completes the final campaign check during the qualification buffer.*

*The advertising, questionnaire, and IVR pre-qualification process applies only to Premium Pre-Qualified Final Expense calls. Social Media Final Expense and Premium TV Final Expense calls follow separate campaign criteria.

Qualification begins with the advertisement*

The consumer should understand that the offer concerns final expense or burial insurance before entering the call path. Clear marketing reduces surprise and gives the prospect context for the questions that follow. Inboundsify™ campaigns avoid presenting the coverage as free.

Qualification is a sequence, not a single question. Each stage adds information and intent, but the agent must still confirm the applicable campaign criteria.

The four qualification stages*

  1. Educational advertisingThe message introduces final expense coverage and prompts an interested consumer to act.
  2. Questionnaire screeningThe consumer answers campaign questions that may include age, medical conditions, banking status, and coverage intent. Unsatisfactory responses can end the path.
  3. Interactive Voice ResponseThe consumer places the call and responds to automated prompts that reconfirm key details and intent.
  4. Agent qualification bufferThe connected agent follows the campaign script and verifies fit before the billable threshold.

What the agent should confirm

The exact questions come from the campaign terms and onboarding materials. Depending on the campaign, the opening may confirm the caller’s age range, banking status, reason for calling, understanding that the conversation concerns life insurance, and any defined disqualifying condition. Agents should use the provided script and avoid adding unofficial billing or refund criteria.

A consumer can meet campaign criteria and still decide not to apply, fail underwriting, decline an offer, lapse later, or otherwise not produce a sale. Qualification describes campaign fit at the time of the call, not the final policy outcome.

How routing supports qualification

During onboarding, agents select the states in which they are licensed. When an agent sets their platform status to available, eligible calls can route based on campaign, caller state, configured service area, and real-time availability. If an eligible agent does not answer, the call may seek another available agent.

Routing and pre-call screening reduce obvious mismatches, but the receiving agent remains responsible for licensing, disclosures, suitability, and a compliant sales process.

A disciplined opening conversation

  1. Answer promptly and identify the purpose.Start the conversation without wasting the qualification window.
  2. Follow the supplied question order.A consistent script makes the decision easier to document and review.
  3. End clearly when campaign criteria are not met.If the caller is unqualified, conclude the call within the applicable buffer when practical.
  4. Continue naturally when the caller qualifies.Move from campaign verification into the needs analysis and compliant sales conversation.
